Dotted blues

Hi lovelies hope you're all well!

Today's post is based on a new polish that I bought from Superdrug last week. I have to admit it was impulsive but I have no regrets as I genuinely think it will be a summer favourite and for £1.99 (with 10% student discount) it's an absolute steal! It's the clubbing colours range by Miss Sporty in 'Pop Fiction'.

Usually I would create a design as soon as I got home but for this I was hesitant as the colour was so pretty I wanted to make a design that would reflect its beauty. Without further ado, here's what I ended up with:

This literally just needed one coat which I love and it did dry really fast. The feature nail was created with Calvin Klein 'French tip', and the pattern was dotted on with a dotting tool. I then topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

I would definitely do this again using different colours...gradient on the feature nails perhaps? Hmmm....maybe you'll see that in the next post ha!

Until next time my lovelies...

Weekend mani!

Hi lovelies it's been a while!

This weekend was a hectic one for me, filled with birthdays, weddings and anniversaries! The mani below was inspired by my sari material, which I wore for a wedding on Saturday. I feel it was simple but elegant and went so well with everything else I wore, which was great since I didn't have much time to change my nails otherwise!

So without further ado, here's my mani:

Here's what I used for them:

 - W7 in Cosmic Black,
- Barry M silver foil effects
- Seche Vite topcoat
- Sally Hansen advanced base coat
- black acrylic paint with a thin paintbrush for the roses
- black rhinestones for the centre of the roses, purchased from Ebay

What do you guys think?

Hope you're having a good week so far!

Orange and black glitter triangles!

First post yay!

Helloooo :)

This weekend's design is quite simple but still manages to stand out!

It looks great with any colour combination but I decided to go for a bright base. I think subconsciously I'm trying to encourage the sun to come out!

Here's what I used:

Gold hexagon glitter from Born Pretty Store

- Seche Vite topcoat
- MUA in shade 4
- W7 in cosmic black
- Gold hexagon glitter
- a toothpick
- Sally Hansen Advanced Hard as Nail Nylon + Retinol Strengthener base coat

Here's how I did it:

1. After 2 coats of Sally Hansen base coat, I applied 1 coat of my MUA polish
2. I then painted a triangle using the W7 polish. I did this freehand - wasn't too worried about it being dead straight as the edges would be covered by the glequins anyways. However, you could using striping tape to create the triangle and fill it in with polish, or use a thin brush/toothpick to draw a triangle outline and fill it in!
3. I used a toothpick with a dab of clear polish at the end to pick up a glequin and place it carefully on the outline of the triangle. I continued doing this until I'd formed the outline.
4. I finally placed one glequin in the centre of the triangle, towards the tip of the nail, and sealed the design with Seche Vite

What do you guys think? If you try this design let me know what colours you used! The possibilities are endless :)

I have to say I love this combination of orange and black...it doesn't just have to be used for Halloween ;)
